Dicta: Art and the future of activism

Clifford Chance recently partnered with the International Center for Advocates Against Discrimination (ICAAD) on the immersive virtual Dicta exhibit, which combines poetry, law and art to inspire activism in pursuit of social justice.

Partner Celeste Koeleveld caught up with ICAAD advisor Zuleka Henderson to discuss the impact of the Dicta series and "Artivism" as a means of driving social justice. Zuleka is a licensed social worker, a cultural healing and anti-racism consultant, and the Founding Director of the Center for Black WellBeing with graymatters Medical Practice, which serves as a wellness destination that houses several healing lanes specifically designed for Black people.

With Dicta, ICAAD's artist in residence Harbani Ahuja creates found poetry in Supreme Court decisions, featuring poems on the thematic areas of the Rights of Black People and Women’s Rights. Learn more about Dicta and watch the artist discuss her experience creating the series.
