That’s how the legal industry responded in 1987 when Clifford Turner and Coward Chance merged to create Clifford Chance. ​

The commercial world was changing. The most ambitious organisations needed a law firm that could go beyond borders and narrow areas of expertise. Clifford Turner had the international presence, with offices across Europe and in New York. Coward Chance had the expert reputation and sector expertise. ​

Together, they became Clifford Chance – a merger that changed the legal landscape around the world.
