Clifford Chance advises the European Super League

A Clifford Chance Madrid-based team of lawyers advises the European Super League promoters on the legal aspects of the project including the foundational agreements, the financing committed in respect of the project for an amount of approx. EUR 4 bn, antitrust and regulatory matters and the legal actions initiated vis-à-vis FIFA and UEFA.

The multidisciplinary team is led by partner Luis Alonso, head of the Spanish Corporate/M&A practice of Clifford Chance, supported by senior associate Pablo Murcia, and includes (i) on financing matters, Eduardo García (partner), (ii) on litigation, Fernando Irurzun (partner) and Fernando Giménez-Alvear (senior associate), (iii) on antitrust matters, Miguel Odriozola (partner) and Belén Irissarry (senior associate) and (iv) on regulatory aspects of the project, Jaime Almenar (partner).
