Clifford Chance advised EBRD on the financing of EU's pioneering recycling plant for car batteries

Clifford Chance advised the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on a loan granted to Elemental Holding S.A. in order to finance a pioneering recycling facility. Currently under construction in Poland, the plant will treat spent lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and other waste containing metals that are critical for e-mobility. It will be the first facility of its kind in the European Union and one of the first in the world.

Elemental Holding S.A. is a Polish company engaged in the collection and recycling of platinum-group metals and electrical waste and has a worldwide presence. The company has operations in Poland, other European countries, the Middle East and the United States of America.

The Clifford Chance team involved in the financing part of the transaction included Andrzej Stosio (Partner Co-heading the Warsaw Banking and Finance Department), Jared Grubb (Partner), Kacper Bardan (Senior Associate), Bartosz Zieliński (Associate) and Artur Gładysz (Associate).

Clifford Chance doradzała EBOiR przy finansowaniu pionierskiego zakładu recyklingu baterii samochodowych

Kancelaria Clifford Chance doradzała Europejskiemu Bankowi Odbudowy i Rozwoju w związku z pożyczką udzieloną Elemental Holding S.A. na sfinansowanie pionierskiego zakładu recyklingu. Powstający obecnie w Polsce zakład będzie przetwarzał zużyte baterie litowo-jonowe do pojazdów elektrycznych oraz inne odpady zawierające metale istotne w rozwoju e-mobilności. Będzie to pierwszy tego typu obiekt w Unii Europejskiej i jeden z pierwszych na świecie.

Elemental Holding S.A. to polska spółka zajmująca się zbiórką i recyklingiem metali z grupy platynowców i elektrośmieci, obecna na całym świecie. Spółka prowadzi działalność w Polsce, innych państwach europejskich, na Bliskim Wschodzie i w Stanach Zjednoczonych.
