Clifford Chance advises consortium of Korean and French investors on acquisition of \'De Rotterdam\'

Clifford Chance has advised a consortium consisting of Korean investors and AMUNDI Real Estate, on the acquisition of the building 'De Rotterdam' in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, from Rabo Real Estate Group. The sale comprises approximately 75,000 sq m of office space, the NHow hotel with 278 rooms and approximately 2,000 sq m of conference and event spaces, approximately 3,000 sq m of commercial units and the 5-storey car park with 670 places. This makes it the largest single asset transaction of recent times. It is also the first investment on the European mainland by the Korean investors. The iconic building was designed by OMA/Rem Koolhaas.

The consortium of investors led by AMUNDI Real Estate was advised by Clifford Chance and L'Etoile Properties.

The Clifford Chance team that advised the consortium was led by Liesbeth Buiter and furthermore consisted of Mats Klein Breteler, Lotte de Bruin, Krishna van Zundert and Wiebe de Vries for the real estate aspects, Willem Specken and Stern Flik for the tax aspects and Hein Tonnaer, Jan-Joost van Rijsbergen, Mats Klein Breteler, Lotte de Bruin and Sophie Herweijer for the financing aspects.
