Ophir Energy is a UK listed oil and gas group with interests in Africa.

Under the terms of the offer, Ophir has offered 0.5719 of its own shares for each Salamander share, valuing Salamander at an indicative value of approximately £314 million.

Natural resources M&A Partner, David Lewis, led the Clifford Chance team.  Employee Benefits Partner Sonia Gilbert, Employment  Partner Mike Crossan, Litigation Partner Roger Leese and M&A Partner Steven Fox also formed part of the team, with support from Senior Associates Ciaran Healy and James Bole, Associates Ruth Paul and Edward Holmes and Trainee solicitors Bhavin Bhatt and Robert Taylor.

David Lewis said "Having worked for the company since before its IPO in 2006, it was great to be able to support the Salamander team during its formal sales process earlier in this year and to see the group into its next phase of development within Ophir."
