Clifford Chance advises Trendyol on the US$700 million sale of Trendyol Go to Uber

Global law firm Clifford Chance advises Trendyol, Türkiye's largest e-commerce platform and its first decacorn, which is majority-owned by China’s Alibaba, on the proposed sale of an 85% controlling stake in Trendyol Go to Uber. This landmark deal, valued at US$700 million, is anticipated to reach completion in the second half of 2025, marking a transformative moment in the Turkish e-commerce and delivery landscape.

Trendyol Go, the online meal and grocery delivery service based in Istanbul, operates as a key division of Trendyol Group, a leading player in the fashion and retail e-commerce sector. Trendyol Go has established itself as a leader in the local delivery market, facilitating over 90,000 restaurants and employing 19,000 couriers.

The acquisition by Uber represents a strategic expansion of Uber Eats into the Turkish market. This entry into Türkiye is expected to bring about increased competition and innovation in the local delivery sector, benefiting consumers and partners alike.
