Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised the lenders on the financing of Cinven's strategic investment in Grant Thornton UK, one of the UK's leading diversified professional services firms offering audit, tax and advisory services and led by 200+ partners with over 5000 employees. Grant Thornton's UK partner base will remain invested in the business as a significant shareholder. This landmark transaction constitutes one of the most significant private equity investments in the UK accounting sector to date.
The Clifford Chance team advising the lenders was led by Partners Peter Dahlen and Matt Dunn, with support from Senior Associates Lewis Whyte and Will Goulbourne and Associates Eugenio Decio, Assia Al Jerrari, Assisi Gifford, Isabelle Woodcock and Natalie Faktor.
