Clifford Chance advises Adamantem Capital on acquisition of carbon farming business Climate Friendly

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has advised Adamantem Capital on its acquisition of a majority stake in carbon farming project developer Climate Friendly. The acquisition represents one of the largest M&A deals in the Australian land-based carbon sector to date, and the first investment to close in Adamantem’s second Fund (Fund II).

The firm advised Adamantem on both the acquisition and the related financing.

Corporate partner Andrew Crook and counsel Reuben van Werkum led the transaction. They were supported by senior associate Jenny Han, associates Alice Bradshaw, Dale Straughen and Alex Duffy. Deal financing advice was provided by partner Mark Gillgren, senior associate Victor Greenstreet, and associate Madeleine Burrill.

Andrew offered, "It's been great partnering with the Adamantem team on such an interesting transaction in an important space. This deal will help Climate Friendly continue to innovate and drive the carbon farming industry. We look forward to supporting the Adamantem and Climate Friendly teams as they take the business to the next level."

Climate Friendly is a Sydney-based consultancy which works with landholders, managers and Traditional Custodians to regenerate their land and improve productivity by adopting land management practices that reduce emissions and capture carbon in the land.
