Clifford Chance advised the project company and the joint venture between EDF Renouvelables and Enbridge, Eolien Maritime France, on the financing of an offshore wind farm off the coast of Fécamp, with an installed capacity of 497 MW (71 SGRE turbines of 7 MW).

The future Fécamp offshore wind farm will produce the equivalent of the domestic energy consumption of more than 770,000 people, i.e. more than 60% of the residents of Seine-Maritime. It will contribute significantly to the French government's objective of achieving a 33% share of renewable energy in France's electricity consumption by 2030, as well as to the establishment of a renewable energy industry based in France.

EDF Renouvelables and Enbridge are also in charge of the offshore wind project in Courseulles sur Mer, alongside WPD; in addition, EDF Renouvelables and Enbridge jointly own the Saint-Nazaire project. These two projects, like the one in Fécamp, were awarded in 2012, during the first call for tenders organised by the French government.

Fécamp is now the second offshore wind project in France, out of all the tenders, to reach financial close, after the Saint-Nazaire project in September 2019. It is also the most important project financed during the state of emergency imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Clifford Chance a conseillé la société de projet et la société commune entre EDF Renouvelables et Enbridge, Eolien Maritime France, dans le cadre du financement du parc éolien maritime au large de Fécamp, d'une capacité installée de 497 MW (71 turbines SGRE de 7 MW).

Le futur parc éolien en mer de Fécamp produira l’équivalent de la consommation domestique en électricité de plus de 770 000 personnes, soit plus de 60% des habitants de Seine-Maritime. Il contribuera significativement à l’objectif de l’Etat français visant à atteindre 33 % d’énergies renouvelables dans la consommation d’électricité du pays d’ici 2030, ainsi qu'à l'établissement d'une filière basée en France.

Les mêmes sponsors sont également en charge du projet éolien maritime de Courseulles sur Mer aux côtés de WPD, EDF Renouvelables et Enbridge étant par ailleurs ensemble titulaires du projet de Saint-Nazaire. Ces deux projets ont, comme celui de Fécamp, été attribués en 2012, lors du premier appel d’offres organisé par l’Etat.

Fécamp est désormais le second projet éolien offshore en France, tous appels d'offres confondus, à être financé, après celui de Saint-Nazaire en septembre 2019. C'est aussi le plus important projet financé durant l'état d'urgence sanitaire.
