Clifford Chance advises METRO in preparation for EUR 1 billion sale of Real supermarkets in Germany

Clifford Chance has advised METRO AG in the context of a vendor due diligence in preparation for the sale of Real supermarkets in Germany. A consortium led by financial investor SCP and real estate investor X-Bricks is buying the supermarket chain for around EUR 1 billion

The extensive due diligence covered 276 properties across Germany, including both locations owned by METRO and rented properties.

Clifford Chance regularly advises METRO. In 2014, for instance, it advised the retail giant on the sale of parts of its headquarters in Dusseldorf, and in 2015 on the sale of GALERIA Kaufhof as well as other real estate.

Die internationale Anwaltssozietät Clifford Chance hat die METRO AG im Rahmen einer Verkäufer-Due Diligence bei der Vorbereitung des Verkaufs der Real-Supermärkte in Deutschland beraten. Ein Konsortium um den Finanzinvestor SCP und den Immobilieninvestor X-Bricks erwirbt die Supermarkt-Kette für rund 1 Milliarde Euro.

Die umfangreiche Due Diligence umfasste 276 Immobilien-Objekte in ganz Deutschland, darunter sowohl die Eigentumsstandorte von METRO als auch angemietete Immobilien.

Clifford Chance berät METRO regelmäßig, so zum Beispiel auch 2014 beim Verkauf von Teilen der METRO-Unternehmenszentrale in Düsseldorf, 2015 beim Verkauf von GALERIA Kaufhof sowie beim Verkauf weiterer Immobilien.
