Clifford Chance advises Epta on its strategic combination with Hauser Group

Clifford Chance has advised Epta, a global leader in commercial refrigeration, on a strategic business combination with Hauser Group, an established Austrian company with a strong presence across the DACH region and Central and Eastern European markets.

This transaction aims to strengthen Epta’s presence and competitiveness in the retail sector and represents a significant step in the long-term vision shared by both companies to create one of the most comprehensive and leading players in the industry, with approximately €2 billion in consolidated revenues and around 10,000 employees, combining innovation, sustainability, and top-tier service. Hauser’s well-established market position will complement Epta’s unique expertise in commercial refrigeration, enabling the Group to offer its clients one of the broadest ranges of solutions and services in the sector, driven by sustainable and digital innovation.

Clifford Chance advised Epta with a cross-border team led by partner Paolo Sersale and counsel Francesca Casini, with support from senior associate Mariasole Rinciari and trainee Federica Giovannini. Antitrust aspects were handled by partner Luciano Di Via, assisted by associates Eleonora Zappalorto and Luca Borin. Employment matters were led by partner Simonetta Candela.
