Clifford Chance advises Crédit Agricole CIB on the EUR 2.3 billion green financing of SSAB’s new steel mill in Sweden
Clifford Chance has advised Crédit Agricole CIB as the global coordinator, structuring bank, and green loan coordinator for the green financing for the transformation project to build a state-of-the-art fossil-free mini-mill in Luleå, Sweden.
SSAB has obtained three green loan financing facilities amounting up to EUR 2.3 billion. This includes a SEK 15 billion loan supported by the Swedish National Debt Office (“Riksgälden”) under the “Credit guarantees for green investments” program, a EUR 808 million loan backed by the Italian Export Credit Agency (SACE) and a loan provided by the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB).

Clifford Chance a accompagné Crédit Agricole CIB, en qualité de coordinateur global, banque de structuration et coordinateur de prêt vert, dans le financement vert du projet de transformation visant à construire une mini-usine de pointe sans recours aux énergies fossiles à Luleå, en Suède.
SSAB a conclu plusieurs facilités de financement vert pour un montant total de 2,3 milliards d’euros. Ce financement comprend un prêt de 15 milliards de couronnes suédoises soutenu par l'Office national de la dette suédois (« Riksgälden ») dans le cadre du programme « Garanties de crédit pour les investissements verts », un prêt de 808 millions d'euros garanti par l'Agence italienne de crédit à l'exportation (SACE), ainsi qu'un prêt apporté par la Banque nordique d’investissement (BNI).
