Clifford Chance advises Iqony on the sale of Iqony Waste to Energy to Danpower

Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised Iqony GmbH, a global energy company and a portfolio company of infrastructure investor Asterion Industrial Partners, on the sale of its subsidiary Iqony Waste to Energy GmbH to Danpower GmbH.

Danpower, a subsidiary of enercity AG, is acquiring two thermal waste-to-energy plants from Iqony through this transaction, thereby expanding its portfolio of facilities to produce more heat and electricity from environmentally friendly waste heat. The two plants are located in Lauta (Saxony) and Rüdersdorf (Brandenburg), and their heat output can supply up to 25,000 households.

Iqony is part of the STEAG Iqony Group and offers comprehensive solutions for the decarbonisation, decentralisation, and digitalisation of energy supply. Iqony focuses on renewable energies and bridging technologies that can be used in a climate-neutral manner in the future. Approximately 2,600 employees implement projects for large industrial companies, energy suppliers, cities, and municipalities in numerous countries around the world.

Die globale Anwaltssozietät Clifford Chance hat das weltweit tätige Energieunternehmen Iqony GmbH, ein Portfolio-Unternehmen des Infrastruktur-Investors Asterion Industrial Partners, beim Verkauf ihrer Tochtergesellschaft Iqony Waste to Energy GmbH an die Danpower GmbH beraten.

Danpower, eine Tochtergesellschaft der enercity AG, erwirbt mit der Transaktion zwei thermische Müllverwertungsanlagen von Iqony und erweitert damit sein Anlagenportfolio, um noch mehr Wärme und Strom aus klimafreundlicher Abwärme produzieren zu können. Die beiden Anlagen befinden sich in Lauta (Sachsen) und Rüdersdorf (Brandenburg); ihre Wärmeauskopplung kann bis zu 25.000 Haushalte versorgen.
