Clifford Chance advises lenders financing Infracapital’s acquisition of Liquin (formerly Vopak Rotterdam Botlek)
Global law firm Clifford Chance advised the lenders on the financing relating to the acquisition by Infracapital, the infrastructure equity investment arm of M&G Plc, of 100% of Liquin (formerly known as Vopak Rotterdam Botlek, VRB), a Dutch specialised liquid storage terminal business based in the Port of Rotterdam.
Liquin comprises a portfolio of three chemical liquid storage terminals having a combined capacity of 1.4 million cbm strategically located in the Botlek area of the Port of Rotterdam, which houses one of Europe’s largest integrated industrial chemicals clusters.
Infracapital will support Liquin in its expansion, with the company well positioned for growth via significant valuable land available, positioning it to capture growth in sustainable and circular chemicals in the Botlek area of the port of Rotterdam. The acquisition aligns with Infracapital’s strategy to invest in essential infrastructure to meet the changing needs of society and support long-term economic growth across Europe.
The multi-jurisdictional cross-practice team was led by Julia House (London partner) and Titus de Vries (Amsterdam partner), with support from Maria Morris (London senior associate), Herman Steinvoort (Amsterdam senior associate) and Natalie Bennett (London associate), from the Global Finance Markets group. Jeroen Thijssen (partner) Sebastiaan van Steenbergen (associate) and Niels Kuil (advocaat-stagiaire) from the Amsterdam Corporate group also advised.
