Clifford Chance advises club of banks led by Komerční banka in relation to financing of acquisition of Spearhead's Czech and Slovakian businesses for J&T

Clifford Chance has advised a club of major Czech banks led by Komerční banka, a.s., a member of the international financial group Société Générale, and further consisting of Raiffeisenbank a.s. and UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia, a.s. in connection with financing of acquisition of agricultural companies of Spearhead group in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, for undisclosed price.

The financing was provided to subsidiaries of JTZE (J&T Zemědělství a Ekologie). As a result of this acquisition, JTZE will expand the acreage on which their companies operate to 37,000 hectares, making them one of the largest agricultural group in the Czech Republic, second only to Agrofert.

“Agriculture is a long-term investment for us, not only because of its strategic importance in the European context,” said Dušan Palcr, Deputy Chairman of the Board of J&T Finance Group.

The Clifford Chance team working on this financing was led by Senior Associate Dominik Vojta and supervised by Partner Miloš Felgr. The team was further supported by Senior Associate Stanislav Holec and Junior Lawyer Pavlína Tomečková.
