Clifford Chance advised the project company Parc Eolien Offshore de Provence Grand Large (PGL) on the financing of a floating offshore wind farm project off the coast of Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône (near Marseille) in France, with an installed capacity of 24 MW (3 SGRE turbines of 8 MW each).
Provence Grand Large, led by EDF Renewables and Enbridge Éolien France 2 S.à.r.l, a subsidiary of Enbridge Inc. and CPP Investments, is the first floating offshore wind farm pilot project in France to reach financial close. The financing was made available by commercial lenders and the European Investment Bank, with a financial support from the Agency for Ecological Transition (ADEME in French) and the European Union (FEDER programme) for the construction phase.
Closed in November 2021, the financing of this project has marked a decisive step in the success of floating offshore wind farm projects in France.

Clifford Chance a conseillé la société de projet Parc Eolien Offshore de Provence Grand Large ("PGL") dans le cadre du financement d'un projet de parc éolien offshore flottant au large de Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône (près de Marseille) en France, d'une puissance installée de 24 MW (3 turbines SGRE de 8 MW chacune).
Provence Grand Large, détenue par EDF Renouvelables et Enbridge Éolien France 2 S.à.r.l, filiale d'Enbridge Inc. et de CPP Investments, est le premier projet pilote de parc éolien offshore flottant en France à avoir clôturé son financement. Ce dernier a été apporté par des prêteurs commerciaux et la Banque européenne d'investissement, avec un soutien financier de l'Agence de la transition écologique (ADEME) et de l'Union européenne (programme FEDER) pour la phase de construction.
Clôturé en novembre 2021, le financement de ce projet a marqué une étape décisive dans la réussite des projets de parcs éoliens offshore flottants en France.
