Clifford Chance sponsors Madrid Re Investment Talks, bringing together major real estate players and professionals

On Wednesday, 23 June, more than 40 professionals and leaders from Spain's real estate industry met at Madrid Re Investment Talks 2021, an event organised by Iberian Property and Kreab to promote debate and reflection on the challenges facing the industry and the role it will play in the economic recovery.

The event, which Clifford Chance sponsors together with Merlin Properties and Azora, was attended by Gonzalo García Andrés, the recently appointed Secretary of State for Economy and Business Support, Miguel Ferre, Kreab senior partner and head of public affairs, and António Gil Machado, director of Iberian Property.

The event was also attended by Eduardo García and Pablo Serrano, Clifford Chance's partners in charge of global financial markets and tax, respectively, as well as Carlos Portocarrero, its partner in charge of real estate. Portocarrero noted that the real estate industry is experiencing a rapid and profound transformation, with alternative assets and club deals becoming the format of choice in an industry that will see a change in the investment–concentration risk paradigm in the medium term.
