Clifford Chance strengthens Greater China Litigation & Dispute Resolution team with two partner hires

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has announced the hires of Soo Khim Keoy and Jonathan Wong as partners in its global Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice, based in Hong Kong. Both Soo Khim and Jonathan bring extensive experience in commercial litigation and contentious financial regulatory matters, respectively. Soo Khim will join in late May and Jonathan joins 1 April.

Asia Pacific Head of Litigation & Dispute Resolution Nish Shetty said, "Our Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice in Hong Kong is uniquely positioned to advise clients on their most complex international and domestic contentious matters. Soo Khim and Jonathan both bring impressive experience representing clients on high-stakes contentious matters and I am delighted they are joining our talented team."

Soo Khim is a specialist commercial litigation partner with over 20 years' experience. He advises international and Greater China-based listed companies, financial institutions, financial investors and high net worth individuals on complex contentious matters, with a specific focus on large scale corporate and commercial litigation, shareholder/joint venture and M&A disputes, as well as insolvency and arbitration related litigation. He joins from Withers where he led their Hong Kong litigation practice.

Jonathan represents international and Greater China-based financial institutions, asset managers and other intermediaries on regulatory and internal investigations, and financial crimes and bank litigation matters, as well as international and commercial arbitration. His recent experience includes high profile sponsor investigations, price fixing, insider dealing and control failure matters. He joins from Freshfields' Hong Kong office.

Asia Pacific Regional Managing Partner Connie Heng said, "We are delighted with the addition of Soo Khim and Jonathan which further strengthens our leading litigation and contentious regulatory capabilities in Asia Pacific. The hiring of such high calibre individuals reinforces our commitment to investing in our litigation and regulatory offering, and in the region more generally."

The addition of Soo Khim and Jonathan continues the firm's strategy of investment in its highly regarded global Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. In January Clifford Chance announced the appointment of leading international trade regulatory and national security expert, Renée Latour, to its partnership based in Washington, DC. Renee follows the recent international partner hires of Daan Lunsingh ScheurleerChristine Gärtner, and Paul Tan with our Formal Law Alliance firm in Singapore, Cavenagh Law.

Both Soo Khim and Jonathan are fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
