Clifford Chance advised Eurazeo on the creation and first closing of the France-China Cooperation Fund

Eurazeo has announced the launch of the France-China Cooperation Fund, following a letter of intent signed between Eurazeo and its partners at the end of 2019 in the presence of Presidents Xi Jinping and Emmanuel Macron.

The new Fund, which will be managed by Eurazeo Funds Management Luxembourg, an affiliate of Eurazeo, will seek to invest in French and Continental European companies belonging in sectors with significant opportunity in China alongside Eurazeo’s middle market buyout strategies, Eurazeo Capital and Eurazeo PME.

The respective expertise of Eurazeo and of its partners, two leading French and Chinese institutional investors, will enable the Fund to offer to the companies in which it will invest new pathways for growth in China.

After a first close for an amount of 400 M€, the Fund may also raise additional capital from third parties. The Fund's initial partners may also increase their commitment in the Fund.

Clifford Chance advised Eurazeo with a team composed of Xavier Comaills (partner), Marie Préat (counsel) and Louis-Guillaume Cousin (associate) on the structuring matters, Gilles Lebreton (partner) and Raphaël Durand (associate) regarding corporate matters, and Omar El Arjoun (associate) on tax matters. A team led by Emmanuel-Frédéric Henrion, Geoffrey Scardoni and Katia Gauzès (partners) was also involved on the Luxembourg matters of this transaction.

Eurazeo a annoncé le lancement du Fonds France-China Cooperation, faisant suite à la signature fin 2019 d'une lettre d’intention entre Eurazeo et ses partenaires en présence des Présidents Xi Jinping et Emmanuel Macron.

Ce nouveau fonds, qui sera géré par Eurazeo Funds Management Luxembourg, une filiale d’Eurazeo, investira dans des sociétés françaises et d'Europe continentale répondant aux critères d'investissement d’Eurazeo Capital et Eurazeo PME et appartenant à des secteurs d’activité à fort potentiel de développement sur le marché chinois.

Les expertises d'Eurazeo et de ses partenaires, deux investisseurs institutionnels français et chinois de premier plan, permettront d’offrir aux sociétés dans lesquelles le fonds investira de nouvelles perspectives de croissance sur ce marché.

Suite à la réalisation d'un premier closing de 400 M€, des capitaux supplémentaires pourront être levés auprès d’investisseurs tiers. Les partenaires initiaux du fonds auront également la possibilité d'augmenter leur engagement dans le Fonds.
