Clifford Chance advised Hoist Finance on its acquisition of NPL from Getback

The Clifford Chance Warsaw office represented Hoist Finance, a Swedish financial services company active in nine European countries, on its acquisition of non-performing loans from Polish company GetBack.

As communicated to the market on 29 April 2019, Hoist Finance completed its acquisition of non-performing loans from the Polish debt management and collection company GetBack. The assets acquired are valued at approximately PLN 400 m. More than 95% of the assets comprise non-performing unsecured consumer loans . A minor part includes secured consumer and SME loans.

The Clifford Chance team was supervised by Agnieszka Janicka, Warsaw office managing partner, with longstanding experience in M&A, private equity and ECM transactions (Band 1 Lawyer in the area of Corporate/M&A and Private Equity in Poland according to Chambers legal directory).

The negotiation team was led by counsels: Tomasz Derda and Krzysztof Hajdamowicz, and was supported by senior associate Kacper Bardan, and associate Katarzyna Aleksandrowicz. The antitrust aspects were covered by counsel Iwona Terlecka, senior associate Łukasz Mamiński, and associate Anna Łyczakowska.
