Agnieszka Janicka has worked for Clifford Chance since it was founded in Warsaw in 1992 and has over 20 years of corporate experience in many industry sectors, with special focus on energy & resources, TMT, financial services, consumer goods, and healthcare. In particular, she has advised on some of Poland’s largest M&A transactions, privatizations and international equity offerings.

Agnieszka also has extensive experience in advising on cross-border transactions and is recommended as the first-choice lawyer in Poland by leading private equity houses. She is also recognised by many leading legal directories - for example, Chambers Global and Chambers Europe - as the key individual in M&A, Corporate, and Private Equity in Poland.

  • Advised Powszechny Zakład Ubezpieczeń S.A. (PZU – the largest Polish insurance group), acting as part of a consortium with Polski Fundusz Rozwoju S.A. (PFR – the Polish Sovereign Wealth Fund), in the acquisition of 32.8% of the shares in Bank Polska Kasa Opieki S.A. (Bank Pekao) from UniCredit
  • Advised Empik Media & Fashion group (which is controlled by Penta Investments and Eastbridge funds) on the conclusion with Coortland Investments, a special purpose company of global private equity fund Bridgepoint, of a share purchase agreement for shares in the Smyk Group companies, an international chain of specialist stores with products for children
  • Advised banks (joint global coordinators, joint bookrunners and joint guarantors) on the issue of shares in Alior Bank S.A. with a value of PLN 2.2 billion
