Clifford Chance advises banks on financing of acquisition of PepsiCo business in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary by Karlovarské minerální vody, a. s.

Clifford Chance has advised Československá obchodní banka, a. s., as mandated lead arranger, facility agent, security agent and underwriter on the initial finance documentation and in relation to subsequent syndication and transactional closing with Česká spořitelna, a.s. (together with CSOB the two largest banks in the Czech market measured by the number of clients) and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), on provision of loans towards financing of acquisition of PepsiCo business in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary by Karlovarské minerální vody, a. s. (KMV). The deal cleared the path for KMV to become, in their own words, the largest non-alcoholic beverages producer in CEE region.

Clifford Chance's advice on the transaction covered Czech and English law aspects, with partner and the head of Prague finance practice Miloš Felgr leading the deal while English law advice was provided by Marian Husár, English law qualified senior associate, and Czech law aspects of the transaction were executed by associate Dominik Vojta.
