Clifford Chance boosts German arbitration practice with lateral hire Moritz Keller
Leading international law firm Clifford Chance is strengthening its German Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice with the hire of arbitration partner, Moritz Keller. The experienced litigator and specialist in international commercial and investment arbitration will join Clifford Chance as a partner and work from the firm's Frankfurt office.
As well as boosting the firm's German Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice and its International Arbitration Group, Moritz will establish Frankfurt as another international Clifford Chance Arbitration hub for the firm, focusing on Germany/Austria and the CEE/CIS region (Central and Eastern Europe/Commonwealth of Independent States). He will build on the strength of the existing arbitration practitioners in the German practice and throughout Europe, advising clients on international arbitration and investment protection proceedings.
Moritz Keller joins Clifford Chance from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he is head of the firm's arbitration practice in Vienna with a focus on helping clients in their proceedings in Eastern and Southeastern Europe as well as in Austria and Germany. He is an experienced advisor in commercial arbitration proceedings according to the ICC, UNCITRAL or DIS Rules as well as investment protection disputes under the ICSID Rules, covering a broad range of industries such as energy, infrastructure and construction as well as the banking and financial sectors.

The arrival of Moritz Keller comes weeks after the firm announced the hire of Thomas Voland and Michael Dietrich as partners and regulatory specialists in the firm's practices. Thomas Voland joined from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and advises clients with a focus on public commercial law at the interface to litigation, M&A transactions and compliance. Michael Dietrich will, in a few months, join the firm from Herbert Smith Freehills, where he leads the German antitrust team. Michael has made a name for himself as an accomplished antitrust lawyer, especially in high-profile cartel proceedings and antitrust damages cases in a variety of sectors.

Der erfahrene Prozessrechtler und Spezialist für internationale Wirtschafts- und Investitionsschiedsverfahren wechselt als Partner zu Clifford Chance und wird aus dem Frankfurter Büro der Sozietät heraus beraten.

Moritz Keller kommt von Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, deren Schiedsverfahrenspraxis er in Wien leitet. Von dort aus begleitet er unter anderem Mandanten in Verfahren in Ost- und Südosteuropa, Österreich und Deutschland. Seine breite Expertise umfasst sowohl Investitionsschiedsverfahren nach den ICSID-, ICC-, UNCITRAL- und DIS-Schiedsordnungen als auch Streitigkeiten im internationalen Wirtschaftsvölkerrecht zum Investitionsschutz und wirtschaftsrechtliche Gerichtsverfahren. Die Streitigkeiten betreffen eine Vielzahl von Branchen wie zum Beispiel Energie, Infrastruktur und Bau ebenso wie etwa den Banken- und Finanzmarkt-Sektor.
