Clifford Chance advises NBCUniversal on the sale of its joint venture share in The History Channel (Germany)
Clifford Chance has advised NBC Universal Global Networks Deutschland GmbH on the sale of its 50% share in The History Channel (Germany) GmbH & Co. KG to companies belonging to A+E Networks. The History Channel (Germany) had previously been operated as a joint venture between NBCUniversal and A+E Networks.
The History Channel (Germany) operates the TV channels "HISTORY©" (previously "THE HISTORY CHANNEL©") and "A&E©" in Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, South Tyrol and the German-speaking part of Switzerland. The completion of the transaction is subject to conditions precedent.
NBCUniversal is part of Comcast Group, a global media and technology company. In the 2016 financial year, Comcast had more than 150,000 employees and generated revenues of approximately USD 80 billion.

KG an Gesellschaften der A+E Networks-Gruppe beraten. The History Channel (Germany) wurde bislang als Joint Venture von NBCUniversal und A+E Networks betrieben.
The History Channel (Germany) betreibt die TV-Kanäle "HISTORY®" (ehemals "THE HISTORY CHANNEL®") und "A&E®" in Deutschland, Österreich, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, Südtirol und dem deutschsprachigen Teil der Schweiz. Der Vollzug der Transaktion steht unter aufschiebenden Bedingungen.
NBCUniversal gehört zur Comcast-Gruppe, ein weltweites Medien- und Technologieunternehmen. Comcast hatte im Geschäftsjahr 2016 mehr als 150.000 Mitarbeiter und einen Umsatz von rund 80 Milliarden US-Dollar.
