International law firm Clifford Chance has been recognised as the world's leading syndicated loan law firm in the inaugural Thomson Reuters Syndicated Loans Legal Review 2010.
The firm was ranked first for advising lenders and second for borrowers both globally and in EMEA, having advised on 81 syndicated loan transactions worth over $72 billion globally. Clifford Chance also took the top spot as legal adviser to lenders in Asia.
Robert Lee, Co-head of the London Finance Practice comments, "As confidence has grown in the loan markets and in the macro economy generally, there have been an increasing number of new loans and refinancings, and these results demonstrate that Clifford Chance's leading banking practice has been able to provide our clients with the advice that they have needed around the globe over the last year."
Mark Campbell, Global leader of Clifford Chance's Finance Practice adds, "What has enabled Clifford Chance to have achieved such a positive result has been our practice's ability to advise on both regular financings and on sophisticated cross-disciplinary, multi-jurisdictional financings. Clifford Chance has been leading developments in the growing number of innovative loan/bond financings, and these results show that clients trust us with their largest, most complex and innovative transactions in what continue to be difficult markets."
