Clifford Chance expands Australia Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice with the hire of partner, Brad Woodhouse

Global law firm Clifford Chance has appointed Brad Woodhouse as partner and Head of Class Actions, Australia. Brad will join the firm's global L&DR practice and be based in Sydney.

Brad brings more than 20 years of experience specialising in large scale, complex commercial litigation, with a particular focus on class actions. He has acted on several of Australia's largest class actions across a wide range of subject areas including financial products and services, product liability, natural disasters, employment and professional negligence.

Commenting on the appointment, Australia Managing Partner Mark Currell said, "Brad's class actions and commercial litigation experience adds to our busy Australian L&DR offering. We are delighted that Brad has decided to join our growing team, including to lead the class actions practice.”

"In addition to Brad’s broader commercial litigation and class action experience, the work Brad has done in defending a number of employment class actions and test cases will complement our growing employment law offering, while his expertise in relation to property-related disputes will add significantly to the Australian real estate practice.”

Cameron Hassall, Asia Pacific Head of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice added, "Brad's reputation as a measured, client-focused and outcome-oriented disputes partner is immediately apparent. Our global and Australian clients, and our team, will benefit from Brad's stewardship of the class actions practice, as well as his 20 plus years of experience of commercial litigation in product liability, employment, professional services and property-related disputes.

Incoming partner Brad Woodhouse said, "With the continued significance of class actions in Australia's legal landscape and their growing impact on multinational corporations, I’m thrilled to be joining a global firm and contributing to a broader international network.”

The addition of Brad is the latest in a series of targeted senior-level hires designed to further strengthen the firm's L&DR offering in Australia and across Asia Pacific.
