Clifford Chance advises IDB Invest on A/B loan financing to expand telecommunications infrastructure in Argentina

Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised IDB Invest on a US$50 million secured A/B loan financing with the participation of Itaú Unibanco to C.P.S. Comunicaciones S.A.U. (Metrotel). The financing, first disbursed in February 2025, will enable an expansion of Metrotel's fiber optic infrastructure and is expected to increase the availability of high-quality telecommunications services in Argentina.

The financing is secured by guarantees from a set of Argentine and cross-border guarantors, with Citibank N.A. and its Argentine Branch acting as collateral agent for offshore and onshore security, respectively.

The Clifford Chance team advising on the transaction was led by partner Jessica Springsteen and law clerk Daniela Hernandez, with support from associate Phil Reens.
