Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised ING Bank, a branch of ING-DiBa AG, on the conclusion of a new €200 million credit facility (with an option to increase by €100 million) for KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA ("KWS SAAT"), a world-leading plant breeding company.
With the new credit line, KWS SAAT is refinancing its existing financing ahead of schedule. The syndicated loan agreement is linked to specific ESG criteria. The three selected sustainability indicators cover the areas of ecology, innovation, and social aspects.
A consortium of seven banks participated in the credit line. ING Bank, a branch of ING-DiBa AG, also acts as documentation agent, while DZ BANK AG Deutsche Zentral-Genossenschaftsbank, Frankfurt am Main, has been appointed as agent and HSBC Continental Europe S.A., Germany as ESG coordinator.

Die globale Anwaltskanzlei Clifford Chance hat die ING Bank, a branch of ING-DiBa AG beim Abschluss einer neuen Kreditlinie mit einem Volumen von €200 Millionen (mit einer Erhöhungsoption um €100 Millionen) für KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA ("KWS SAAT"), ein weltweit führendes Pflanzenzüchtungsunternehmen, beraten.
Mit der neuen Kreditlinie refinanziert KWS SAAT vorzeitig ihre bestehende Finanzierung. Der Konsortialkreditvertrag ist an bestimmte ESG-Kriterien geknüpft. Die drei ausgewählten Nachhaltigkeitsindikatoren bilden die Bereiche Ökologie, Innovation und Soziales ab.
Ein Konsortium aus sieben Banken hat sich an der Kreditlinie beteiligt. Die ING Bank, a branch of ING-DiBa AG agiert zudem als Dokumentationsagent, während die DZ BANK AG Deutsche Zentral-Genossenschaftsbank, Frankfurt am Main als Konsortialführer und die HSBC Continental Europe S.A., Germany als ESG-Koordinator ernannt worden sind.
