JUVE Awards 2024: Clifford Chance named "Law Firm of the Year for Dispute Resolution"

At this year's prestigious JUVE Awards ceremony, global law firm Clifford Chance was recognised as "Law Firm of the Year for Dispute Resolution", taking home one of the coveted awards.

In the price winning speech JUVE emphasized: "Once characterised by financial disputes, it now plays an important role in the major conflicts of our time. Climate crisis, energy crisis, consequences of war: Few dispute resolution practices are as present as Clifford Chance in the face of this challenges. This is thanks to a far-sighted team strategy that has strengthened core areas and initiated a generational change. In Frankfurt, the law firm has built one of the most international arbitration teams in the German market. Major comprehensive disputes such as the investment protection proceedings against Greenland show how Clifford Chance optimally deploys its globally integrated practices under the Frankfurt leadership."

This year's success is completed with another nomination as Law Firm of the Year, along with two additional nominations in the categories of Employment Law and Antitrust Law.

In the commendation for the nomination as Law Firm of the Year, JUVE's editorial team particularly praised the sustainable strategic sector focus: "With its strong sector focus, [Clifford Chance] is often already at a place where others would like to be. This is demonstrated by major energy sector projects like Steag, Wintershall Dea, and Tennet. The targeted expansion of other areas is also paying off, such as in restructurings like Varta and BayWa, as well as in patent and employment law."

The JUVE Awards are considered one of the most important industry awards in the German legal market. This year, JUVE presented awards in 18 categories to law firms and in-house teams whose performances have been particularly dynamic over the past year. The winners are chosen based on extensive market research by the JUVE editorial team and around 7,500 individual conversations with clients and law firms.

JUVE Awards 2024: Clifford Chance ist Kanzlei des Jahres für Dispute Resolution

Die globale Anwaltssozietät Clifford Chance wurde am Donnerstag bei der 21. Verleihung der JUVE Awards in der Frankfurter Alten Oper vom JUVE Verlag als "Kanzlei des Jahres für Dispute Resolution" ausgezeichnet.

In ihrer Laudatio hob die JUVE-Redaktion hervor: "Die Praxis hat sich neu erfunden. Einst geprägt von finanzrechtlichen Streitigkeiten, spielt sie heute bei den großen Konflikten unserer Zeit eine wichtige Rolle. Klimakrise, Energiekrise, Kriegsfolgen: Wenige Disputes-Praxen sind hier so präsent wie Clifford. Zu verdanken ist dies einer weitsichtigen Personalstrategie, die Kernbereiche gestärkt und einen Generationswechsel eingeleitet hat. In Frankfurt hat die Kanzlei eines der internationalsten Schiedsteams im deutschen Markt aufgebaut. Riesige Streitkomplexe wie ein Investitionsschutzverfahren gegen Grönland zeigen, wie unter der Frankfurter Federführung die Vorteile einer global integrierten Praxis optimal eingesetzt werden können."
