Clifford Chance continues expanding US Energy & Infrastructure practice with addition of partners Ty'Meka M. Reeves-Sobers in Houston and Marcia Hook in Washington, DC

Global law firm Clifford Chance has hired partners Ty'Meka M. Reeves-Sobers and Marcia Hook as it continues to grow the firm's global Energy & Infrastructure team in the US. Reeves-Sobers strengthens the firm's core environmental capabilities with her experience in environmental regulatory matters and transactions, as well as environmental, social and governance (ESG) advisory work. Hook builds on the firm's energy offering with her energy regulatory, transactional and litigation experience. They join the Houston and Washington, DC offices, respectively.

Sharis Pozen, Regional Managing Partner for the Americas, says, "We are delighted Ty'Meka and Marcia have joined us. Their impressive backgrounds expand the US capability of our global Energy and Infrastructure offering and underscore our ongoing client-led expansion. Our growth in the US, including the addition of our Houston office, has solidified our position as the go-to firm for global energy and infrastructure sector knowledge, and we are excited to continue building such a high-quality team for our clients."

Reeves-Sobers, who has deep experience in environment-related risk in regulations and transactions, advises on a diverse range of M&A, finance, and regulatory matters, including identifying, evaluating, and mitigating environmental, health and safety regulatory and compliance issues, navigating permitting processes and developing strategies on enforcement action negotiations and environmental crisis response. She expands the firm's US capability in project development and finance work, including greenfield Energy Transition projects. She joins our global ESG team as the transition to more sustainable economy drives work across products and economic sectors.

Hook advises on energy regulatory and transactional issues across the energy sector, including electric, natural gas, oil, liquefied natural gas (LNG), hydrogen, and hydrogen derivatives. Much of her practice is transactional work, including advising investors, sponsors, and developers of Energy Transition projects in connection with key commercial agreements and energy market issues. She also has substantial experience advising clients on the energy regulatory aspects of M&A, financing, and capital markets deals. Her experience includes advising on regulation by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and Department of Energy (DOE), Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) matters, and federal permitting matters.

In 2023, Clifford Chance expanded its Global Energy & Infrastructure practice in the US with the launch of its Houston office in June, followed by the hires of partner Cephas Sekhar and counsel Kyle Kreshover. With Reeves-Sobers' arrival, the firm now has 12 partners in Houston.
