Clifford Chance advises on auction and sale of telecoms towers business in South Eastern Europe
Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised Telekom Srbija on the disposal of its telecoms towers business across Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Montenegro to an Actis-led group of investors.
The transaction involved the pre-completion carve-out of approximately 1,800 towers from Telekom Srbija and its subsidiaries into newly-established towercos in each of the jurisdictions. Pursuant to long-term master services agreements, Telekom Srbija will receive colocation space on the towers, and have new towers built by the towercos in support of its continued mobile network roll-out. Completion occurred following receipt of applicable regulatory approvals.
The Clifford Chance team in London was led by Corporate partner Nick Spurrell, alongside Tech//Digital counsel Mark Fisher, and Corporate senior associate Francesca Wilson. Associates involved included Lucinda Bayley, Alex Dixey, Karim Vellani and Sophie Nannetti. Partner Nicola Hemsley, director Simon Corzberg and senior associates Viktoria Parkhomenko and Eli Bursky advised on tax matters. Brussels-based partner Anastasios Tomtsis advised on regulatory and public law matters. Partner Simon Williams, senior associate Rebecca Shepherd and associate Alex Hpa advised on certain finance related matters.
