Clifford Chance Brussels has assisted AYES, a Belgian AI start-up based in Antwerp, on its pre-seed round funding.

AYES delivers a mobile application, OKO, that recognises pedestrian traffic lights to let people know whether it is red or green and a new functionality that recognizes the bus destination. These functionalities help many blind and visually impaired people on their daily commute. The funds will be used to expand its business.

The Clifford Chance team was led by counsel Patrice Viaene with the support of associates Arthur Barbé and Gillis Waelkens.

Last year the Brussels team advised the start-up on its initial capital raise, these initial funds were used to launch the app. Clifford Chance are delighted to work with AYES on another transaction positively impacting the mobility of blind and visually impaired people.

In this week of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Clifford Chance is delighted to support AYES, supporting and positively impacting the mobility of blind and visually impaired people.

This year's campaign, #AccessibilityForAll, will showcase how the firm is leveraging tech and innovation to advance accessibility at Clifford Chance. We invite you to join our webinar taking place on Tuesday 6 December at 2pm GMT, 'How technology can revolutionise accessibility and level the playing field for disabled people'.
