JUVE Awards 2022: Clifford Chance named "Law Firm of the Year for Private Equity and Venture Capital"

At this year's prestigious JUVE Awards ceremony, international law firm Clifford Chance was recognised as "Law Firm of the Year for Private Equity and Venture Capital", taking home one of the coveted awards.

JUVE particularly emphasised the comprehensive expertise and team strength as well as the excellent client contacts of Clifford Chance's Private Equity team: "Clifford has successfully fought its way back in large cap deals - such as advising a bidding consortium around OMERS Infrastructure on the acquisition of Amedes. The biggest success, however, was certainly the return of client Cinven, which is now relying again on the team around Anselm Raddatz and Jörg Rhiel. The firm has also increased its presence in the mid-cap sector. Frederik Mühl manages to expand the client base year after year. In terms of personnel, numbers have gone up, especially in Munich. The additions Mark Aschenbrenner and Volkmar Bruckner have brought promising contacts to mid-cap firms. With Lakestar, a growth fund is also relying on the team. This demonstrates: The firm is equipped for all asset classes."

This year's success is rounded off with the nomination as Law Firm of the Year for Antitrust. JUVE praised Clifford Chance's antitrust team for its in-depth know-how and excellent work in challenging mandates: "The team mastered difficult merger controls, for example for Leonardo or the US group Trinseo. The newly appointed partner Dimitri Slobodenjuk receives much praise for his know-how in investment control. Marc Besen, together with litigation colleagues for Moravia Steel, fended off a claim for damages by Deutsche Bahn."

The JUVE Awards are considered one of the most important industry awards in the German legal market. This year, JUVE presented awards in 18 categories to law firms and in-house teams whose performances have been particularly dynamic over the past year. The winners are chosen based on extensive market research by the JUVE editorial team and over 8,000 individual conversations with clients and law firms.

JUVE Awards 2022: Clifford Chance ist Kanzlei des Jahres für Private Equity und Venture Capital

Bei der diesjährigen Preisverleihung der renommierten JUVE Awards wurde die internationale Anwaltssozietät Clifford Chance als "Kanzlei des Jahres für Private Equity und Venture Capital" ausgezeichnet und nimmt damit eine der begehrten Auszeichnungen mit nach Hause.

In der Laudatio hob die JUVE-Redaktion insbesondere die umfassende Expertise und Teamstärke sowie die exzellenten Mandantenkontakte des Private Equity-Teams von Clifford Chance hervor: "Clifford hat sich bei Large-Cap-Deals erfolgreich zurückgekämpft. Das zeigt die Beratung für das Bieterkonsortium um OMERS Infrastructure beim Kauf von Amedes. Größter Erfolg war aber sicher die Rückkehr von Mandantin Cinven, die nach einer Pause nun wieder auf das Team um Anselm Raddatz und Jörg Rhiel setzt. Auch im Mid-Cap-Bereich ist die Kanzlei immer präsenter. Frederik Mühl schafft es Jahr für Jahr, die Mandatsbasis zu erweitern. Personell ging es vor allem in München bergauf. Die Zugänge Mark Aschenbrenner und Volkmar Bruckner haben vielversprechende Kontakte zu Mid-Cap-Häusern mitgebracht. Mit Lakestar setzt außerdem ein Wachstumsfonds auf das Team. Das zeigt: Die Kanzlei ist für alle Anlageklassen gerüstet."

JUVE lobte das Clifford Chance Kartellrechts-Team für das tiefe Know-how und seine exzellente Arbeit in herausfordernden Mandaten: "Das Team meisterte schwierige Fusionskontrollen, etwa für Leonardo oder den US-Konzern Trinseo. Neupartner Dimitri Slobodenjuk erhält viel Lob für sein Know-how in Sachen Investitionskontrolle. Marc Besen hat gemeinsam mit den Litigation-Kollegen für Moravia Steel eine Schadensersatzklage der Deutschen Bahn abgewehrt."
