Clifford Chance advises on financing for public infrastructure projects in Barranquilla, Colombia
Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has advised Distrito Especial, Industrial y Portuario de Barranquilla (the Distrito de Barranquilla) in a US$100,000,000 senior unsecured financing provided by Deutsche Bank, AG.
The proceeds of the loans will be used by the Distrito de Barranquilla for the purpose of financing public infrastructure projects included in the 2020-2023 development plan "Soy Barranquilla". Soy Barranquilla aims to focus on social investment, particularly in the city's health, education, security, housing and public service sectors.
Mendoza Abogados acted as Colombian counsel and Diestro acted as financial advisor to the Distrito de Barranquilla. Mayer Brown and PPU acted as New York and Colombian counsels to the lender, respectively.
