Clifford Chance promotes four new Counsels in Amsterdam
Clifford Chance promotes four new counsels in Amsterdam, effective as of 1 May 2021: Nolan Groenland (Tax), Tim Heerschop (Corporate/M&A), Leen Kranenburg (Notarial) and Mike Niekoop (Banking & Finance).
Nolan Groenland specialises in the taxation of corporate and financing transactions with particular emphasis on M&A, (structured) finance, tax controversy and international taxation. He has ample experience with the full range of financial products including lending, acquisition finance, real estate finance, asset finance, project finance, derivatives, insolvency & restructuring and structured finance, especially securitization, tax controversy & policy and (debt & equity) capital markets, as well as executive remuneration and dismissal issues.
Tim Heerschop is part of the Corporate/M&A practice of Clifford Chance Amsterdam. Tim specialises in private and public M&A, private equity, management participation and corporate advisory work. He advises both international and domestic private equity firms and their portfolio companies, financial institutions and corporates on sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions, public offers, joint ventures, restructurings and various other corporate matters. Tim is also experienced in transactions in the energy and renewables sector.
Leen Kranenburg is a deputy civil law notary in the Amsterdam Corporate practice. He specialises in corporate law and related notarial law. His practice focuses on private equity transactions, (cross border) corporate restructurings (including cross border mergers, demergers and conversions), M&A transactions (both public and private), joint venture structures, setting up (international) acquisition structures, as well as day-to-day counseling of public and private companies on a wide range of (corporate governance) matters.
Mike Niekoop is part of the Amsterdam Financial Markets Group. He specializes in project finance (with a strong focus on renewable energy), digital infrastructure finance (including data centres, towers and fibre) and asset finance. Mike combines deep sector knowledge in renewables (including offshore, onshore, solar, wind, biomass, tidal wave and battery storage), aviation and infrastructure finance with legal skills and pragmatic advice. He has advised energy firms, banks, lenders, sponsors, institutional investors and aviation companies and lessors across several domestic and cross-border project & asset based transactions. He is a regular contributor to the loose-leaf publications Aircraft Liens & Detention Rights and Aircraft Finance by Sweet & Maxwell and has issued several briefings on various renewable energy related topics.
