Clifford Chance awarded a further five-year Qualifying Foreign Law Practice licence by the Singapore Government

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has received a renewal of its Qualifying Foreign Law Practice (QFLP) licence from the Singapore Government for a further five-year period. Clifford Chance was one of six law firms to receive Singapore's first QFLP licences issued in 2008, when the scheme was introduced to grow the legal sector and offer additional opportunities for Singapore lawyers.

"We're delighted our QFLP licence has been renewed. Singapore is an important jurisdiction for our clients and our firm globally. The Singapore office serves as a hub for the South East Asian region, and the team is consistently involved in the most innovative transactions not just in the region but also more widely across Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Americas," said Matthew Layton, Global Managing Partner.

Singapore Managing Partner Kai-Niklas Schneider added, "This year we celebrate 40 years in Singapore. Singapore continues to showcase its value as a hub for business in Asia and beyond. We are incredibly proud of our highly talented team of Singaporean and international colleagues. We also greatly value our strong relationship with the local legal community and legal tech community which we will continue to closely engage with in the years ahead."
