Clifford Chance Global Co-Head of the International Arbitration Group Jason Fry appointed Queen’s Counsel

International law firm Clifford Chance is delighted to announce that Jason Fry, Global Co-Head of the International Arbitration Group, has been appointed Queen’s Counsel. Jason joins Audley Sheppard QC, the other Global Co-Head of the firm's International Arbitration Group, who was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2015.

Matthew Newick, Global Head of Litigation & Dispute Resolution, states that: "Jason is a first class arbitration practitioner and we are delighted that he has been given this prestigious accolade. He has long been recognised globally as at the top of his field and it is great to see this officially acknowledged at the highest level."

The award of Queen’s Counsel (also referred to as silk) is for excellence in advocacy in the higher courts. It is made to advocates who have rights of audience in the higher courts of England and Wales and have demonstrated the competencies in the Competency Framework to a standard of excellence. The new Queen’s Counsel will formally become silks on 16 March 2020 at a swearing in ceremony at Westminster Hall in London.

Jason Fry became a partner at Clifford Chance in 1999. He was Secretary General of the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris between 2007 and 2012, when he rejoined the firm. Jason's practice focuses on international commercial arbitration. He has 30 years of experience acting as counsel and arbitrator, resolving major international disputes arising out of infrastructure projects, energy, aerospace, and corporate transactions, including post M&A and shareholder disputes.

Le cabinet d’avocats d'affaires international Clifford Chance annonce aujourd'hui la nomination de Jason Fry, co-responsable mondial du groupe arbitrage international, en tant que Queen’s Counsel. Jason rejoint ainsi Audley Sheppard QC, autre co-responsable mondial du groupe arbitrage international, nommé Queen’s Counsel en 2015.

La distinction de Queen’s Counsel récompense l’excellence en matière de plaidoirie devant les plus hautes cours. Elle est délivrée aux praticiens habilités à exercer dans les plus hautes cours d’Angleterre et du Pays de Galles et qui se sont distingués par l'excellence de leurs compétences selon le Competency Framework. Les nommés prendront officiellement leurs fonctions le 16 mars 2020, lors d'une cérémonie qui se déroulera au sein du Westminster Hall à Londres.

Jason Fry a été nommé associé chez Clifford Chance en 1999. Sa pratique se concentre sur l'arbitrage commercial international. Jason a 30 ans d'expérience dans la résolution de litiges en lien avec les secteurs des infrastructures, de l'énergie, de l'aérospatial et des opérations corporate, dont notamment les litiges post fusions et acquisitions et entre actionnaires.
