Clifford Chance acts for lenders on Port of Rotterdam\'s sustainability-linked facility

Havenbedrijf Rotterdam – Port of Rotterdam – has signed a 5+1+1-year EUR300m sustainability-linked credit facility, making it the first major port in Europe with a green facility.

Pricing is linked to sustainability indicators, which reflect the borrower’s key sustainability initiatives. Rabobank acted as Sustainability Coordinator and Documentation Agent on the transaction and was joined by ABN AMRO, ING (Facility Agent) and Helaba as MLAs.

Port of Rotterdam is the largest port in Europe and the third busiest port in the world, behind Singapore and Shanghai. The port aims to be emission-free by the year 2050.

Clifford Chance has acted for the lenders on this transaction. The team was led by Titus de Vries and furthermore consisted of Amin Tamaddoni, Catherine van der Helm and Marina Sarkisjan.
