Clifford Chance advises ewz and Fontavis AG on acquisition of approx. 25 per cent in Trianel wind farm Borkum II
Clifford Chance advised electricity supplier Elektrizitätswerk der Stadt Zürich (ewz) and Swiss investor Fontavis AG on the acquisition of a stake in Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum II GmbH & Co. KG.
Together, ewz and Fontavis AG will hold approximately 25 per cent in the company. With their entry, the shareholder structure for the Trianel wind farm Borkum II is now complete. Other shareholders are EWE from Oldenburg and Trianel with additional municipal utilities. This also means that the second level of the enhancement of the Northern Sea wind farm held by local communities has been realised.
According to the current schedule, the decision on construction phase II of the Trianel wind farm Borkum is to be passed in April 2017. The construction of the offshore wind farm shall commence in spring 2018. The Trianel wind farm Borkum II is to be connected to the grid as municipal offshore project by the end of 2019.
The Trianel wind farm Borkum II consists of 32 wind turbines from manufacturer Senvion with an output of 6.3 MW each. The turbines will be erected on monopiles and connected to the farm's existing transformer platform of the first level of Trianel wind farm Borkum. The wind forecasts for the second level expect an annual electricity output of approx. 800m kWh. The total investment costs for the Trianel wind farm Borkum II amount to approx. EUR 800m.

Clifford Chance berät ewz und Fontavis AG beim Beitritt mit rund 25 Prozent am Trianel Windpark Borkum II
Die internationale Anwaltssozietät Clifford Chance hat das Elektrizitätswerk der Stadt Zürich (ewz) und den schweizerischen Investor Fontavis AG beim Beitritt zur Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum II GmbH & Co. KG beraten. Gemeinsam beteiligen sich ewz und Fontavis AG mit rund 25 Prozent an der Gesellschaft. Mit dem Beitritt von ewz und Fontavis ist die Gesellschafterstruktur für den Trianel Windpark Borkum II nunmehr komplett. Weitere Gesellschafter sind EWE aus Oldenburg und Trianel mit weiteren Stadtwerken. Damit wird auch die zweite Ausbaustufe des Nordsee-Windparks in kommunaler Hand realisiert.
Nach der aktuellen Zeitplanung soll im April 2017 der Baubeschluss für die Phase II des Trianel Windpark Borkum im Gesellschafterkreis fallen. Für Frühjahr 2018 ist geplant, mit der Errichtung des Offshore-Windparks zu starten. Bis spätestens Ende 2019 soll dann der Trianel Windpark Borkum II als kommunales Offshore-Projekt ans Netz gehen.
Der Trianel Windpark Borkum II besteht aus 32 Windkraftanlagen des Anlagenherstellers Senvion mit einer Leistung von jeweils rund 6,3 MW. Die Anlagen werden auf Monopiles errichtet und an die bereits vorhandene parkinterne Umspannplattform der ersten Ausbaustufe des Trianel Windpark Borkum angeschlossen. Für die zweite Ausbaustufe rechnen die Windprognosen mit einer jährlichen Stromproduktion von rund 800 Mio. kWh pro Jahr. Die Gesamtinvestition für den Trianel Windpark Borkum II beläuft sich auf rund 800 Mio. Euro.
