Clifford Chance launches the 6th edition of a Scholarship for Excellence to a Moroccan business law student in partnership with the Association des Juristes d'Affaires Marocains (AJAM)
Candidatures to be in by 15 November 2015
The international law firm Clifford Chance launches for the 6th consecutive year a Scholarship for Excellence1 to a Moroccan business law student, in partnership with the Association of Moroccan Business Lawyers2 (AJAM).
The Scholarship for Excellence, awarded every year on academic and social criteria, amounts to EUR 5,000 a year and is intended to assist in his studies a Moroccan first- or second-year Master of Law student who is intending to become a lawyer.
Eligibility criteria:
- applicant must be a Moroccan student reading for a Master I or Master II in business law at a French university;
- applicant must have an excellent academic record; and
- applicant must have a need for financial support in order to complete his or her business-law studies.
Terms and conditions governing the award:
Students must e-mail their candidatures before 15 November 2015 to the following e-mail address: ajam.asso@gmail.com.
Candidates' applications must comprise:
- a copy of the candidate's identity document(s);
- a copy of his or her educational qualifications and grade/mark transcripts for the previous three academic years and a curriculum vitae;
- an original copy of a certificate of admission to a university Master I or Master II degree course in business law/a copy of a document certifying admission to a Master II course in business law;
- any document certifying the need of financial support to complete business-law studies (such as copies of the parents' last two tax demands);
- a covering letter describing the student's career objectives; and
- any other information that may favour the student's candidature such as university professor's or in-service tutors' letters of recommendation.
Timetable:
The timetable for the Clifford Chance–AJAM Scholarship for 2015/2016 should be as follows:
- 13 October 2015: candidature period starts
- 15 November 2015: candidature period closes
- 24 November 2015: pre-selection by AJAM of 3 to 5 candidates
- 1-15 December 2015: interviews with pre-selected candidates by a committee made up of representatives of AJAM, Clifford Chance and a Professor of Law
- 16 December 2015: chosen candidate's name announced
- On or after 16 December 2015: Clifford Chance Scholarship awarded to candidate selected
