Clifford Chance advises Abertis Airports

International law firm Clifford Chance advised Abertis Airports on the sale of one of the TBI portfolio of airports, Cardiff International Airport, to the Welsh Assembly Government for £52m. Clifford Chance also acted for Abertis in 2004 when it acquired TBI by way of public takeover.

Clifford Chance has a long standing relationship with Abertis across all three of its business areas – airports, toll roads and telecommunications. This relationship is a showcase example of the firm's cross-border capabilities and approach to working effectively with, and to support, its clients' in-house legal function.

Clifford Chance's award winning infrastructure practice continues to be involved in all of the most significant infrastructure transactions in the UK.  During 2012, Clifford Chance advised on the Edinburgh Airport, Veolia Water and Newcastle Airport transactions.

The Clifford Chance team was led by Corporate partner Caroline Sherrell and associate Elisabeth Marsden.
