On 11 February 2021, the Pension Schemes Bill received Royal Assent and became the Pension Schemes Act 2021. Its passage through parliament following its introduction in October 2019 garnered much attention given some of the rather surprising elements of the proposed criminal offences which remain unchanged in the Act. Now that the Act has received Royal Assent, it’s a good time for parties to take stock of what happens next and what the implications of some of the key changes made by the Act are, which we touch on in this special edition of the UK: Pensions Update.
