In December 2020 the Federal Government of Australia issued a Consultation Paper for Enhancing Australia's decommissioning framework for offshore oil and gas activities. This is an important paper which highlights the strategic significance of the offshore oil and gas sector which has supported Australia's economic activity and energy security for decades.
