Draft Building Safety Bill and Fire Safety Consultation: Strengthening the frameworks Post-Grenfell

In the wake of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, the Government has published a draft Building Safety Bill containing a wide range of changes to law covering building safety during design, construction and occupation, and the creation of a new regulatory framework for high-rise residential buildings.
The Government has also published a consultation on changes to the overlapping Fire Safety Order which covers safety in workplaces and other premises. This briefing takes a look at the proposals
