CIETAC terminates Shanghai and South China Sub-Commissions' administrations of arbitration
21 January 2013
On 31st December 2012, the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), the foreign-related arbitration commission in the People's Republic of China, issued a formal announcement through its headquarters at CIETAC Beijing that the CIETAC Shanghai and CIETAC South China Sub-Commissions, (the latter was originally named the CIETAC Shenzhen Sub-Commission), both branch offices of CIETAC, were operating unlawfully and not in accordance with the 2012 CIETAC Arbitration Rules. This action has been taken by CIETAC following its announcement in August 2012 that the operations of both Sub-Commissions had been suspended.
