US Patent System reformed by America Invents Act

The recently signed America Invents Act (AIA) introduces the most comprehensive changes to the U.S. patent system in many decades and notably aligns it more closely with the laws of other industrialized nations. Some of the AIA's many changes will become effective immediately, while others will only come into effect gradually.
