Clifford Chance advises Goldman Sachs and Santander on social loan for the Republic of Ecuador
Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised Goldman Sachs and Santander on a US$500 million social loan financing to the Republic of Ecuador, partially guaranteed by the Inter-American Development Bank.
The facility will finance affordable and climate-resilient social and public housing programs under Ecuador’s Sovereign Financing Framework. The proceeds are expected to contribute to the construction of more than 11,000 affordable homes in Ecuador, supporting inclusive growth alongside the country’s development and climate goals.
The Clifford Chance team was led by partner Deborah Zandstra and senior associate Azam Taiyeb in London. The wider cross-border Clifford Chance team included counsel John McManmon, associates Hannah McLellan and Daviel Rodriguez, and trainee solicitors Thomas Williams and Aaron Smith.
