Clifford Chance opens applications for its £50,000 UN Sustainable Development Goals Award – sustainability and positive environmental impact
Global, Monday 7 July – Global law firm Clifford Chance has opened applications for its 2025 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) Award. The Award recognises and supports the work of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) making significant contributions towards the achievement of the UN SDGs.
The winning organisation will receive a £50,000 donation from the Clifford Chance Foundation, alongside 500 hours of pro bono legal support from the firm's global network.
This year's Award will focus on NGOs whose work contributes towards:
- SDG: 11 Sustainable communities and cities
- SDG:13 Climate action
- SDG: 14 Life below water
- SDG: 15 Life on land
The judging panel welcomes applications from NGOs around the world, particularly those for whom winning the Award would be transformative. The panel is also keen to hear from organisations adopting innovative strategies towards the achievement of the environment-related SDGs.
All applications will be assessed equally, regardless of geographic location or prior engagement with Clifford Chance.
Key dates:

- October 2025: Winner announced
The judging panel will be led by Senior Partner Adrian Cartwright, alongside members of our Responsible Business Board, strategic pro bono partners, and select client representatives.
