Clifford Chance advises Suma Capital on the structuring of SC Infra Gestcompost Fund, the acquisition of the Gestcompost group by said fund, and the subsequent acquisition of Soluciones Totales de Biometano
Clifford Chance has advised Suma Capital on the structuring of SC Infra Gestcompost Fund, a continuation fund with a target size of two hundred and fifty million euros, and the acquisition by said fund of the Gestcompost group, an investee of SC Efficiency & Environment Fund II, and the subsequent acquisition of Soluciones Totales de Biometano. Several institutional investors have invested in the Fund, including Partners Group as lead investor.
The Gestcompost group engages mainly in biowaste treatment and recovery for the production of biogas, biomethane and biofertilisers. The company manages industrial waste from key sectors, including the paper industry, water purification plants and animal and agri-food by-product processing. With a treatment capacity of 1.2 million tonnes of biowaste at its three facilities in Aragon, Castile-La Mancha and Catalonia, the Gestcompost group will begin generating biomethane this year, with an annual production of 75 GWh.

Clifford Chance ha asesorado a Suma Capital en la estructuración de SC Infra Gestcompost Fund, un fondo de continuación con un tamaño objetivo de doscientos cincuenta millones de euros y la adquisición por parte de éste del grupo Gestcompost, participada de SC Efficiency & Environment Fund II y en la posterior adquisición de Soluciones Totales de Biometano. En el Fondo han invertido varios inversores institucionales, entre ellos, Partners Group como inversor ancla.
Grupo Gestcompost se dedica al tratamiento y valorización de residuos orgánicos para la producción de biogás y biometano y fertilizantes orgánicos. La compañía gestiona residuos industriales de sectores clave, como la industria papelera, las plantas de depuración de agua y la transformación de subproductos de origen animal y agroalimentario. Con una capacidad de tratamiento de 1,2 millones de toneladas de residuos orgánicos en sus tres instalaciones en Aragón, Castilla la Mancha y Cataluña, Grupo Gestcompost comenzará este año la generación de biometano, con una producción anual de 75 GWh.
